Perspectives

Perspectives brings together essays on the management questions that surface as businesses grow, transact and change. It brings the less visible mechanics behind decision-making and execution into view: what information matters, where authority sits, how incentives shape behaviour and what structure is needed for a decision to hold in practice.

Many of these questions start in practice. A founder-led business may be growing faster than the way it is managed. A carve-out may expose unclear decision rights. An industrial operation may have the information but not yet the management rhythm to act on it. A major project may have plenty of expertise and still struggle to move. The settings differ. The underlying management questions often do not.

Jeff Sarfo, author of Boardroom of Creative Leadership.

The essays are written by Jeff Sarfo, founder of MUNDUS CRAS, drawing on experience across finance, M&A, transformation and Big Four advisory in Europe and the Middle East. The aim is not to turn individual situations into case studies, but to make the management mechanism underneath them visible and useful beyond the setting in which it first appeared.

Boardroom of Creative Leadership is Jeff Sarfo’s independent publication on Substack, where these ideas are developed through essays on judgement, authority and execution. Perspectives brings that writing together with the wider set of management questions explored by MUNDUS CRAS.

Questions I keep returning to

  • Where does value really sit inside a business?
  • What changes when ownership moves?
  • Which structures protect what makes a business distinctive?
