Cookie policy
What this site stores on your device
We keep cookie use to the minimum a site of this kind needs. One cookie remembers the choice you make below. Everything else waits for your permission and is never set until you give it.

What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to store. Some are needed to make a site work at all. Others record how a site is used. Under Dutch and European law the first kind may be set without asking, the second kind may not.
Strictly necessary
One cookie falls in this category. It is called mc_consent, it is set by this website and by no one else, and it holds nothing but the choice you made, the date you made it and the version of this policy that was current at the time. It exists so we do not have to ask you again on every page. It lasts 180 days, after which we ask once more. No consent is required for it, and it cannot be switched off without also switching off the site's ability to remember that you said no.
The same value is mirrored into your browser's local storage, so your choice survives if the cookie is cleared but the storage is kept. It is removed together with the cookie when you clear site data.
Analytics
With your permission we use Google Analytics 4 to see in aggregate which pages are read and how visitors move through the site. We use it to decide what to write next, not to identify anyone.
The Google tag runs under Google Consent Mode v2. Every storage signal starts denied, which means the tag is loaded in a state where it cannot write a cookie or read one. Only when you allow analytics does the signal flip to granted and measurement begin. If you decline, or if you simply never answer, no analytics cookie is ever written and no measurement takes place.
When measurement is active, Google sets its own cookies, typically named _ga and one beginning with _ga_ followed by the property identifier. They distinguish one visit from another and expire after two years at most. Google acts as our processor for this data.
No advertising and no tracking
This site places no advertising cookies and carries no social media pixels or embedded trackers. The advertising signals in Consent Mode stay denied at all times, whatever you choose, because the firm does not advertise. We do not follow you across other websites.
Changing your mind
Withdrawing permission is as easy as giving it. Use the button below, or the cookie settings link in the footer of every page, and your choice takes effect immediately. You can also clear cookies through your browser settings, in which case we will ask you again on your next visit.
